埃尔•富尼埃与弗里德里希•古尔达的《贝多芬 大提琴与钢琴作品全集》，2009年《企鹅古典唱片指南》推荐为三星。

皮埃尔•富尼埃是20世纪法国著名的大提琴家，以演奏风格高雅、情感浪漫着称。富尼埃1906年出生于巴黎的一个中产阶级家庭中，受家庭良好文化氛围的影响与熏陶，富尼埃自幼便非常喜爱音乐。早年富尼埃先随母亲学习钢琴，并立志长大后要成为一名钢琴演奏家。但不幸的是，在他9岁那年罹患小儿麻痹症，结果右脚瘫痪失去自由，至此成为钢琴家的梦想破灭。随后，富尼埃改学大提琴。由于他勤奋好学，很快便在巴黎音乐学院的大提琴专业学生中名列前矛。17岁时富尼埃以第一名的优异成绩从巴黎音乐学院业，此后便积极地投身于音乐会舞台演出的实践之中。1937年至1939年，他一直担任法国巴黎音乐师范学校的大提琴教授和室内乐教授。1941年至1949年在巴黎音乐学院担任大提琴教授。1953年他被授予法国国家勋章，获得崇高的荣誉。

富尼埃的演奏风格，明亮、流畅、细腻而富抒情性，他的琴声饱含着令人鼓舞的乐观精神。他演奏的作品隽永流畅，音乐性和技巧性的表达极其自然悠扬，他演奏的巴赫6首组曲与他和肯普夫合作的贝多芬大提琴奏鸣曲，以细腻、精致而别有一番滋味。他的演奏被称为“趣味高雅的贵族式演奏”，他在立体声时代与肯普夫合作的奏鸣曲、与肯普夫和谢霖合作的三重奏，录制的唱片基本上每张精彩，都闪烁着高雅的光泽。他演奏过无数的大提琴作品，其中以巴赫和沃尔顿的作品最为出色。他是一位技术和艺术修养都十分高超的、深受人们喜爱的大音乐家。在20世纪的音乐舞台上富尼埃成为了最为杰出的大提琴演奏名家之一。

富尼埃琴风以格调高雅着称，他的演奏真挚而温暖，是这两部名作的最佳演译者之一，此版演奏追求其内在意韵与深刻的情感体验，浑厚与激越的情趣表达互相激荡，令人印象深刻。

弗里德里希•古尔达生于1930年，维也纳，从1937到1942他在帕佐夫斯基门下学琴，后来进入维也纳音乐院向塞尔德霍费学钢琴与约瑟夫•马克斯学作曲理论，在赢得1946年日内瓦国际钢琴大赛第一名之后，他开始在瑞士、匈牙利、意大利与捷克等地展开演奏会生涯，1950在卡内基厅首演。不久后他在巴哈、贝多芬、莫扎特与舒伯特等曲目上获得国际性的赞誉，常常巡回演奏全本贝多芬钢琴奏鸣曲，也在1968年录下它。后来他渐渐往爵士乐发展，从那时候起，他常在他的古典音乐听众面前附加演奏爵士乐。身为一个古典音乐钢琴家，古尔达的演奏以富感性的诠释著名，是极富天赋的一种表现。
